Spanish Classes for Kids
In-person at the Glynn Visual Arts Center in St. Simons Islands, Georgia!

Class Descriptions
PRESCHOOL SPANISH
The fun begins! Lots of songs and games in this class, with lots of opportunity but little expectation for the student to speak. Here we fine-tune those little ears to hearing a new language! A 30 minute long class, parents are not expected to attend.

*A waiting area is available for those who would like to wait around!
SPANISH 1
No pre-requisite is required for level 1, just a willingness to learn! Here we learn phrases the student will want to take home, like greetings, basic manners, tell you when they're hungry/thirsty and how much of something they'd like, colors and numbers, and more. The student will be able to order from our mock restaurant by the end of the course! Includes "passport" and booklet for supportive home study.
SPANISH 2
Now that they're fully introduced to basic Spanish, we'll talk about going places and what we need to do to prepare to get there! Things like "where are we going?" "put on your coat, it's cold outside!". The student will begin to conjugate on their own. We continue to fill their passports, and the next book for home study is still included. Must have completed level 1.
Meet Your Teacher!

Miss Mili Mendola is a native Spanish speaker born in Peru, South America, and is a newcomer to St. Simon’s Island, where she resides with her husband and son, a senior at Frederica Academy. They enjoy spending time with their four dogs, often walking them around this beautiful island.
Mili is a member of the Glynn Visual Arts Center, where she has taken several clay-building classes. She also paints pet portraits and other subjects by commission. A former art teacher with 25 years of experience in public and private elementary schools in Florida and South Carolina, she also has experience teaching Spanish to grades K–8.
Since moving to Georgia, Mili has become very involved with homeschool families in the area and is really loving this aspect of her life. And now, with her son heading off to college this year, she and her husband are enjoying life as empty nesters—along with their three dogs.
